This print was the official limited edition print for the infamous 23rd defense of the America’s Cup in 1983. It depicts the 1870 challenger Cambria (center left), amongst the best of the New York Yacht Club’s Fleet, tacking out of the Narrows to the Lower Bay. John’s portrayal of the first defense is a poignant tribute to the last defense in Newport.
