Bowhead Whale

The scale set of bronzes are accurate, detailed studies of the 10 species of “great whales” at 1/60th the size of the actual animals. The set was created in response to collectors who expressed interest in a study which would compare various species, previously sculpted at random scales. The set was begun in 1983 and completed the following year. These bronzes are appreciated not only for their representative merit, but also for their graceful interpretations of power in movement and the interest of the patinas. Each is an edition of 250 and all have walnut bases.
